Despite huge and non-stop growth in touristic population movement in Asia in recent years, Airbnb’s 20 for 2020 list for upcoming popular destinations is still dominated by Americas and Europe. Based on the growth in users’ booking numbers for next year, Airbnb has also predicted growing interest in lesser known and eco-conscious cities and countries across the world.
Some of the top trending locales are cities and regions that are preparing for big events like the 2020 Mars Exploration Program launching from Cape Canaveral and surf competitions happening in Ubatuba, Brazil, according to Airbnb’s research. However, in terms of regional distribution, Americas and Europe dominate the list. Americas has 7 destinations with highest increase in Airbnb bookings whereas Europe has 6. According to Airbnb’s predictions, Bilbao in Spain has see the second fastest growth for 2020 bookings whereas East European marvel Romania took the fifth place.
