A recent study by online travel agency Globehunters revealed the top 20 cities with lowest and highest rates to book a five-star hotel room. Antalya ranked first among top 20 international holiday destinations with cheapest five-star hotel rooms, mostly thanks to severe economic and political crisis and devaluation of national currency in Turkey that led to sharp decrease in prices in foreign currencies. Average five-star room rates in Antalya is around 39.62 USD per night.
According to Globehunters’ figures collected from 170 cities around the world, Antalya was followed by Mexico City (41.38 USD), Sharm El Sheikh (50.51 USD) and Kiev (51.2 USD).

Majority of the cheapest 20 are located in Asia whereas North American cities almost ruled the most expensive 20 list. San Francisco tops the list with 554,64 USD a night, followed by Boston (539, 79 USD), Kyoto (534,17 USD), New York (469,59 USD) and Los Angeles (445,69 USD). Based on Globehunter’s figures, there is 515 USD difference between cheapest Antalya and highest San Francisco averages.
