Vienna is a gem from every angle. But this latest angle will make you even more in love with the city. The Vienna Tourist Board sent eagles up to capture footage of the city from above. Travel fans can now watch the video in 360° using VR goggles and experience the capital from the view of an eagle’s eye (see below).
The eagles circled above the city capturing bird’s-eye views in stunning 4k resolution. Red Bull Media House, the production company who were brought on board to give the Vienna Tourist Board some wings, did a great job “with the world-first video work that had eagles wearing 360° cameras to capture footage of a major city” said Norbert Kettner, CEO of the Board. The team has of course respected all necessary animal welfare rules.
Vienna is one of the ever-popular tourism spots in the world with more than 14 million bed nights. In fact, the Board says the city established a new record of 7.2 million visitor bed nights in the first half of the year (up by +4.1% on year on year basis).
