Internet deprivation anxiety is afflicting almost everybody today and the operators of long-haul flights are well aware of the situation. Major players in the industry today invest heavily in keeping their hard-earned customers connected, entertained and fully-charged on board. So how do the world’s top airlines compare today in terms on inflight Wi-Fi, entertainment and connectedness?
A new study by online booking service Traveloka has examined tech-friendliness of 50 airlines from Skytrax World Airline Awards 2018 that operate long-haul (6+ hour) flights. It rated and ranked them based on having inflight Wi-Fi, connection quality, power points and how well passengers can stay connected while flying via text messages, phone calls and live TV channels.
Qatar Airways and Emirates have got the top two spots with their fast internet connections and rich inflight entertainment catalogues. Asian carriers dominated the Top 10 list (see below) with five entries. Click “view more” at the bottom to check ratings of all 50 airlines.
